Product Description

The TAISAN Primer Sander (also known as a Lacquer Sander) is an indispensable machine in any automatic coating line. Unlike heavy-duty calibration sanders that remove wood stock, this machine is designed for High-Precision Surface Polishing.

Why is it essential? After the primer coat cures, wood fibers often rise, and dust particles can get trapped, creating a rough surface. This machine uses fine-grit belts (320# – 600#) and a Soft Polishing Platen system to ‘kiss’ the surface.

  • Frequency Inverter Control: Allows you to slow down the belt speed to prevent heat buildup (which can clog the belt with paint).

  • Air-Cushion Pad: The sanding head floats over the panel, compensating for slight thickness variations to prevent cutting through the edges (sand-through).

Ideal For:

  • Lacquer Sanding: Smoothing UV/PU primer on doors and cabinets.

  • Sealer Sanding: Preparing the sealed surface for the final topcoat.

  • Veneer Sanding: Gently sanding thin veneers (0.3mm+) without penetrating.

  • High Gloss Preparation: Creating the super-flat base required for mirror finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1:Can I use a normal calibration sander for primer sanding?

No, it is risky. Calibration sanders have hard rollers and run at high speeds. They generate too much heat (melting the paint) and are too aggressive, likely sanding through the paint layer to expose the bare wood.

For primer sanding, we typically recommend fine grits ranging from 320# to 600#. Using anything coarser (like 80# or 120#) will leave visible scratch marks that the topcoat cannot hide.

Our machine is equipped with an Air Jet Blower system that oscillates with the belt to constantly blow dust out of the sandpaper pores. Also, running the belt at a lower speed (via inverter) helps keep the paint cool and reduces clogging.
